U.S. House and Senate Agriculture Committee members and their staff are still working to resolve differences in the House and Senate versions of the 2007 Farm Bill, which is being negotiated under the threat of a possible White House veto. The White House negotiators, led by Minnesota Representative Collin Peterson (Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee), have thus far failed to reach an agreement in those areas of concern to the Bush Administration. The major differences between the House and Senate versions are storage payments, loan rate determination, target price, adjusted gross income test and payment limitations.
