January - November 2007 Cotton Exports Increase

China's cotton exports remain very small but did expand in 2007, with January through November cotton exports increasing 70 percent from the previous year to19,486 tons. The exports were mostly comprised of Xinjiang cotton and appeared to be a mixture of organic, colored and ELS cotton. The largest buyers were Japan (4,316 tons), Indonesia (4,011 tons), Taiwan (3,981 tons) and Hong Kong (2,033 tons).
