According to USAITA's recent development memo reflecting the increased interest in environmentally friendly sourcing last week the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced that it is reviewing its Guides for the Use of Environmental Marketing Claims, more commonly known as "Green Guides".

It is thought that one motivation behind the harmonisation effort is to prevent any new verification system from being used as a de facto trade barrier. The EU is the pioneer in consulting the public to create a EU-wide verification system.

The concern for the Environment is one of the topical issues to be discussed in the third edition of Prime Source Forum to take place on 31 March (Workshops) and 1-2 April (Forum) 2008 again in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
