China Agrees to Eliminate Certain Industrial Subsidies

China has agreed to eliminate 12 subsidy programs for domestic industries by January 1, 2008. The U.S., in turn, will suspend its WTO case against China over these subsidies, and will formally withdraw the case when the programs are officially abolished. The full details of the12 subsidy programs to be eliminated have not yet been released but are believed to include a wide spectrum of industries.
