China imported 228,945 tons of cotton in July, which brought January through July cotton imports to 1,404,963 tons, representing a 48.7 percent year-on-year increase. U.S. cotton dominated the July imports, accounting for 164,515 tons of the volume, which was very close to the import levels of the previous year, while Australia, Uzbekistan and West Africa took the remainder of the import volume. U.S., Indian and Uzbekistan styles have dominated year-to-date volume.
